Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seven childhood friends go camping together for the second summer in a row. Last summer they had just graduated high school and believed in their ability to remain so tightly-knit even when separated by several months and thousands of miles. Last summer they’d been so confident that nothing would change. They could not have been more wrong. Their first year of college did not go as expected. Everything that they took for granted fell apart in ways they never could have foreseen. This weekend is their last chance to put themselves back together. The Inconvenient Process of Falling describes the real struggle of growing up and accepting the unpleasant realization that life is not going to turn out exactly how you planned. It depicts the real coming-of-age experience of returning home and seeing how much you’ve changed. Ultimately, it’s a novel about realizing that friends are the family you get to choose. These seven friends undergo the same experience endured by all nineteen-year-olds. It’s a time of transition and trying to stay afloat in this strange state of quasi-adulthood. Growing up is a strange process, and this novel shows that no one is exempt from it. No matter where you live, where you go to school, or what aspirations you use to define yourself, nineteen is a hell of a year. The hardships endured at this age – the money troubles and family struggles and broken hearts that are an inevitable part of growing up – are their own brand of battle. When you emerge scarred and battered and kind of an adult, you probably still don’t know what you want to do with your life or how you’re going to become a full person, but you know who your friends really are, and that’s all you can ask for.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is an anointing of God on this book to help believer evolve from stagnant Christians into a royal priesthood. This will encourage people at this present time and for generations to come move into the sanctuary of God and the process depends on each individual. The process of a disciple is a renewed spirit and mind for the glory of God moving the believers from glory to glory. The things they see in others Christians life often distract believers and the people around them that make them believe the process of spiritual growth is over. The process is not over until they are in the Witness Protection Program, their brothers keepers and bringing many souls along with them. The process is continuous and cannot be ignored or overlooked because of the inconvenience that it may and will cause to the individual. The fifth chapter of Matthew, in The Beatitudes, Jesus gives the believers a promise throughout each level of the process with the end is great is your reward in Heaven. This book serves as a reminder to believers that have Fallen Short of the Glory that they can renew their hope and find rest for their souls. Once the believers balance their lives with the Word and enhance it in His presence they can live and love again. The promises of God are true and can be obtained in each believers life if they follow the growth process.

Book excerpt: The first work of its kind, Volcanic Reservoirs in Petroleum Exploration summarizes the current research and exploration techniques of volcanic reservoirs as a source of oil and gas. With a specific focus on the geological features and development characteristics of volcanic reservoirs in China, it presents a series of practical exploration and evaluation techniques based on this research. Authored by an award-winning petroleum geologist, it introduces exploration and outcome prediction techniques that can be used by scientists in any volcanic region worldwide. Volcanic reservoirs as new sources of petroleum resources are a hot topic in petroleum exploration. Although volcanic rock cannot generate hydrocarbons, it can serve as a reservoir for hydrocarbons when conditions permit. This book explains the differences between volcanic reservoirs and other major reservoir types, and describes effective methods for examining volcanic distribution and predicting volcanic reservoirs, providing a framework for systematic studies throughout the world. Includes an entire section dedicated to current trends in volcanic prediction and evaluation technology More than 90 full-color photos illustrate the text in greater detail Case studies conclude each chapter, helping scientists apply the book's concepts to real-life scenarios

Book excerpt: Did an enormous collision in the Asteroid Belt, orbiting the sun between Mars and Jupiter, bombard Earth with meteorites 470 million years ago? Astonishing new research suggests it did, and a revolutionary theory is emerging that this bombardment resulted in the single greatest increase in biological diversity on the planet since the origin of life. Introducing these discoveries to the general public for the first time, Ted Nield challenges the view that meteorites are bad news. Tracing the history of meteorites from the first recorded strike to the videos made routinely today, he reveals the fascinating ways in which meteorites have transformed from omens of doom to a stepping stone to Mars in twenty-first-century space exploration. The Falling Sky will shatter everything you thought you knew about one of the most terrifying forces in the universe.

On the margin, younger adults favor cash substitutes over cash. For older adults it is the reverse. Revealed preference tied to a changing population age structure seems to be the main influence on the demand for cash and why it is falling. Cash use may continue to fall, and card use (the main cash substitute) may fall by more, if CBDC is issued. The extent of this reduction depends on the demand for retail CBDC and the incentives (primarily transaction fees) that can play a determining role in CBDC adoption and use.
